Breeders Dümmen Orange and Jan Spek Rozen are expanding their collaboration in South America. From January 2022, Dümmen Orange will act as the exclusive agent for Jan Spek Rozen in Ecuador. Dümmen Orange was already an agent for the cut rose range of Jan Spek Rozen in Poland, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Colombia and Brazil.
The strong bond between the breeders has existed since 2016. Synergy benefits are central to both companies. For Dümmen Orange, the cut roses from Jan Spek Rozen are a valued addition to their own range. The extensive sales team and the propagation capacities of Dümmen Orange are relevant to Jan Spek Rozen, which focuses exclusively on the breeding of roses.
“Expanding our cooperation in Ecuador is a logical step, given its strategic importance in the rose market,” says Reinoud Hagen, Managing Director Cut Flowers at Dümmen Orange. “Jan Spek roses are already part of our range in various markets worldwide. We are happy that we can now add Ecuador to the list.”
Erik Spek, Director Jan Spek Rozen: “Jan Spek Rozen is a family business with a reliable name in the national and international rose world. We were founded in 1890 by my great-grandfather, in Boskoop, the Netherlands. Our title 'Purveyor to the Royal Household' has recently been extended by our King Willem-Alexander until 2040. As a partner, Dümmen Orange fits in perfectly with the reputation and the quality profile that we have in the market.”
Dümmen Orange is the world's largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials. In addition to a large international marketing and sales network, Dümmen Orange has a diversified global network of specialized production sites and a world-class R&D team that develops innovative products with added value for customers.
